This repurposed antique hand-operated mangle has been transformed into a distinctive vertical planter stand while retaining its original industrial character. The structure features a sturdy green-painted cast-iron frame with elegant curved side supports that terminate in decorative scroll feet. Large circular hand wheels on either side remain from the original mechanism, providing visual interest and highlighting its heritage.

The main body has a tall, narrow profile, making it an eye-catching statement piece. At the top sits a deep rectangular box with a rich aged patina. Below this, the original mangle section has been preserved, incorporating a central timber panel and horizontal metal roller bars that showcase the craftsmanship of the original design.

A second rectangular galvanised box is suspended within the lower section of the frame, creating a balanced two-tier arrangement. The box displays colour variation, and signs of age, contrasting beautifully with the dark cast iron.

Combining Victorian industrial design with reclaimed architectural materials, this unique piece offers both character and functionality. Its slender silhouette makes it ideal for patios, decking, courtyards, garden rooms, and feature walls, where its historic charm and decorative details can be fully appreciated.
